US violated Geneva Conventions, Bush Iraq commander says

The head of the US Central Command, General David Petraeus, said Friday that the US had violated the Geneva Conventions in a stunning admission from President Bush’s onetime top general in Iraq that the US may have violated international law.

“When we have taken steps that have violated the Geneva Conventions we rightly have been criticized, so as we move forward I think it’s important to again live our values, to live the agreements that we have made in the international justice arena and to practice those,” Gen. Petraeus said on Fox News Friday afternoon.

Petraeus made the comment in the context of being asked about the Bush administration’s so-called “enhanced interrogation techniques.” The now-Central Command chief said he believed that banning the more extreme techniques had taken away “a tool” employed by “our enemies” as a moral argument against the United States.

Petraeus didn’t say which parts of the Geneva Conventions he thought he and other administration officials had violated.

Asked about a “ticking time bomb” scenario — which is often employed by torture’s defenders — Petraeus said that interrogation methods approved for use in the Army Field Manual were generally sufficient.

“There might be an exception and that would require extraordinary but very rapid approval to deal with but for the vast majority of the cases our experience… is that the techniques that are in the Army Field Manual that lays out how we treat detainees, how we interrogate them, those techniques work, that’s our experience in this business,” he said.

He also acknowledged that the US prison at Guantanamo Bay has inflamed anti-US hostility.

“I do support is what has been termed the responsible closure of Gitmo,” Petraeus said. “Gitmo has caused us problems, there’s no question about it. I oversee a region in which the existence of Gitmo has been used by the enemy against us. We have not been without missteps or mistakes in our activity since 9/11 and again Gitmo is a lingering reminder for the use of some in that regard.”

“I don’t think we should be afraid of our values we’re fighting for,” he added. “What we stand for and so indeed we need to embrace them and we need to ope rationalize them in how we carry out what it is we’re doing on the battle field and everywhere else. So one has to have some faith I think in the legal system. One has to have a degree of confidence that individuals that have conducted such extremist activity would indeed be found guilty in our courts of law.”

Freaking war criminals! Let the war crimes tribunals begin!!!

Brief Update…

Posted in politics, theology, visceral gazpaucho on May 29, 2009 by skulz fontaine

Hiya everybody. Been busier than a one-legged man in an ass kicking contest. Hey, how about those North Koreans? Yup. Problem with the North Koreans, they’s freaking crazy. You know, not that kind of funny crazy. Nope. They’s freaking murderously crazy. So, if’n the N. Koreans come swarming over that DMZ well, the proverbial ’shit will hit the fan’. Well really, it’ll be American service boys and girls hitting the fan. Bits and pieces will be splattering just about everywhere.

You see, the N.Koreans have about a ‘million man’ standing army and they’s CRAZY! The U.S. has about 40,000 boys and girls in S. Korea and statistically, that’s called one sided kimchi. Stinking all bejesus like and cut to teeny tiny slivers. Precedent Slick gots himself one helluva problem on his genius hands now.

War in the Iraqnam and war in the Afpakisnam and damn Jews wanting to go ape-shit on the Iranians and now it’s the N. Koreans. Yup, America’s boy genius gots his plate full.

You know, America ain’t heard squat from Jane ’slutty’ Harman. Nope, not for a mite. Ain’t heard much from Pelosi the lying queen. Did Minnesota EVER get a Senator? Coleman still whining his punk ass off?

Anyway, busy Friday and things ought to settle some later this fine day. Eat Mexican food. Laugh at the Pills Limbaugh. Turn off Bill O’Really. Send nasty email to Sperm Hannity.

Boycotts for a Friday-

Boycott Israel. Anything and EVERYTHING!

Boycott the 2010 Census. Just to irritate our fine government.

Boycott genetically modified food. That’s just icky and damn nuts too.

Especially, boycott the Congress of the United States of America. The Congress is crazy BUT, those venal scum are corrupt as the day is long. Would you want to bed Nancy Pelosi after she’s pulled a special interest train? Yeah, think about that!

I mean, that’s just nasty.

Pandemic- The Real Poop

Posted in politics, theology, visceral gazpaucho on May 26, 2009 by skulz fontaine

The “swine flu pandemic” hysteria was a real puzzler. World Health Organization went loopy and the CDC went loopy and Mexico went loco and what the hell was up with that. Well, I know now.

See, I’ve got this connection in clinical lab-land and Clinical Bob is a forensic medical technologist. Damn straight. I worked in the clinical lab-land for a number of years and so I’ve got some connections. Yup.

See here’s the deal. It would seem that Drug Cartels have been branching out in their specific fields of nefarious crime world endeavors and have taken to “exploring” ways and means of protecting their turf and “punishing” their enemies. I mean besides their normal just blowing tiny holes in whomever might just run afoul of the Cartels.

The Cartels have taken up biological research. Well, maybe biological engineering would be the better term. Anyway, the Cartels have got simply mountains of money available for their research and development projects. Yup. Anyway, it would seem that one or several of the Cartels “pooled” their expertise and “produced” a brand new virus that scared the holy crap out of medical-professional world. Yup.

Now, Clinical Bob says that’s why the world went a mite over-the-top with the warnings and scary “pandemic” stuff. Virologists had never seen a flu bug like the one that hit so the eerie part is, the professional virologist guys figured out the bug had been engineered. Clinical lab-land guys do stuff like that. Take bugs apart and puts ‘em back together and yeah, these guys are worlds of laughs at a party.

Anyway, WHO and CDC didn’t really know what to expect and ergo they ‘pushed the pandemic button’ and held their collective breath. The Cartels unleashed mystery bug on Mexico and took a shot at the Mexican government and gave the Federales just a subtle reminder that the Federales still haven’t a clue as to whom they’re dealing with. Yup. Well, the ruling elite couldn’t/wouldn’t/shouldn’t ever maintain that somebody Cartel like had bested the bio-warfare bozos and did that besting out of that “controlled loop” motif AND unleashed the possibility of killing millions of folk that were just standing there minding their own business. Yeah, scared WHO and the CDC and most of those clowns are still cleaning crap out of their chinos. It would be totally appropriate to, at this point, commend WHO and the CDC for sitting on that little nugget of relevance. I mean some rogue operation can bio-engineer a scare like that scare was in fact, we’ve got bigger problems facing our shared humanity than the North Koreans testing nukes and launching missiles.

By the by, Clinical Bob commended the Cartels for their bio-engineering expertise. Clinical Bob says, “damn fine clinical work.” Like I said, the virology guys are simply a load of laughs.

So there you go. The “pandemic” crap was that. Crap and cover-up. Figures. The Cartels did manage to get the world’s medical professional attention. Yup, got their attention alright. Scared senseless and probably fell right into the Cartels trap. Doesn’t take much to stampede skittish sheep. Plant yourself a viral trap and watch our world get hysterical in about two days.

Lastly, the hyper-security intelligence types would call actions like this ‘death by one thousand cuts’ and they would know.

Memorial Day Tour de Farce

Posted in politics, theology, visceral gazpaucho on May 24, 2009 by skulz fontaine

Here it is, America’s very first Memorial Day since the end of Bushco. Yup. Dang, time does fly when you’re having fun. Eight miserable years of darkness are over. Almost.

Let’s see, America crusaded into Afghanistan in October of 2001 and guess what? We’re STILL in Afghanistan. Only now, it’s lovingly called Afpakisnam. Do the math and America has been quagmired there for nigh on to eight years. That’s 8 as in almost will be 8 years come this October. We’ll still be there by the by.

Happy Memorial Day.

That is what Memorial Day is for. Remembering all the fine service boys and girls that got themselves blown to teeny tiny pieces for a lie. Happy Memorial Day and how about those Taleban. How about those blown to bits Afghan children? Yeah, Obama gots the Bushco war now. Just think, come Memorial Day 2012 and America will still be in Afpakisnam and comprehensively clueless as to how to get out. Hell, isn’t that what a good quagmire is for? Getting mired up to one’s neck and stuck. Butchered and bled dry.

Happy Memorial Day.

America has been warring Iraq since Mar. 19, 2003. That’s six years two months and about 4,300 dead American service boys and girls and yeah, thanks Dick/George for the memories. You know when you add the Iraqnam body count to the Afpakisnam body count, that adds to about and damn near 5,000. Dead and gone. Gone to the next life. A better next life one would hope. 5,000 dead and dishonored for freaking lies. Seems pretty damn dishonorable to lie about the Iraqnam in the first place and get all those fine boys and girls shot to holey bejesus for no reason whatsoever.

Just about 30,000 service boys and girls, give or take a couple hundred or so, are barely better off than dead. However, those that merely got blasted armless or legless or whacked brain-scrambled get some really fine prosthetic devices and golly, that’s about worth it. No? The brain-scrambled don’t get prosthetic devices. The grand U.S. military hasn’t figured out how to unscramble brains once they get that scrambling blasted effect. Happy Memorial Day all you scrambled and post-ambulatory Vets. Uncle Sam was certainly thinking about you. Well Uncle Sam did sort of lie his dishonorable ass off but, no big deal right?

Happy Memorial Day.

Somewhere between 750,000 and 1.5 million souls have been slaughtered by Bushco and the U.S. military. That’s the innocent collateral damage. Isn’t that just funny as hell. “Collateral damage.” That is so chic and cavalier. In Afpakisnam and Iraqnam. Innocent men, women, and children. Well, Muslims of course and that’s what crusade is all about. That funny new Dear Leader Obama says, “America is not at war with Islam.” Damn straight. America is and was, at war with Muslims. That is by practical christian theological conjecture, a crusade. Okay, let’s all sing the song… we love a crusade… la la la la la lah!

Happy Memorial Day.

So Precedent Obama owns it now. All of it. Afpakisnam, Iraqnam, the rendition, the detentions, and that lovely torture. Dead Afghan children and dead Iraqi children and all their probably grieving parents. You now, the ones left alive. Happy Memorial Day to you folk as well. The U.S. ought to be about done obliterating your once fine nations in ten or fifteen years or so. It’s that “long war” motif. Y’all don’t mind, do ya? Yeah, it’s Obama’s mess now. Hey Super Slick, can you fix that? No?

Happy Memorial Day to everybody. Remember, drink sensibly and stay away from cluster bombs.

I still think Dick Cheney should offer himself to be waterboarded. Just to prove his rather Vaderesque point.
